Gospel Access

Gospel Acess

After watching some You Tube videos last week of Ray Comfort sharing the gospel on the streets I was reminded about the access Americans have to the gospel. When Ray asks , "Will you be innocent or guilty on the day of judgment?" and the individual replies "Guilty", he then asks whether they know what God has done for them so they could be forgiven. Amazingly, very often the reply is correct: "God sent His Son Jesus to die on the Cross". Why? Gospel Access is abundant here in the U.S. But ask the same question in many other parts of the world and most of the time you will get a blank look. Why? Little, and often no, Gospel Access. Ask them, "Do you know Jesus?" And they may reply, with all seriousness, "Is Jesus your cousin?" Again, why? Gospel Access. And that is why we give attention to international missions.

So what about the innocent man on the island? What happens to him if he dies without ever hearing the gospel? He perishes. He goes to hell. There are no innocent men in the world - Romans 1-3 make that clear. As Carl Henry says, "The gospel is only good news if it gets there on time". So what must be our response? Be the man who gets on the boat and takes the gospel to the man on the island.

Romans 10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? (ESV)
